Oliver

Právě jsme se vrátili z divadla z představení Oliver. Jako všechny ostatní představení Městského divadla Brno můžu jenom doporučit.

Svět Charlese Dickense a jeho románů není třeba naší veřejnosti zvláště představovat. V muzikálu Oliver! vytvořil britský libretista, textař a skladatel Lionel Bart brilantní divadelní přepis slavného Olivera Twista. Ihned po své londýnské premiéře v roce 1960 zaznamenal obrovský ohlas (2618 repríz) a zařadil se k jedinečným muzikálovým dílům své kategorie, uvedeným o tři roky později na Broadwayi (1963) a následně zfilmovaným (1968). Za hudbu - nesmírně zpěvnou a až příjemně snadno zapamatovatelnou - získal autor prestižní Tony Award. Příběh chlapce ze sirotčince, který projde londýnským podsvětím, aby se nakonec octl v hřejivé náruči svého dědečka, získal nesmírnou oblibu u publika. Jeho síla spočívá v bezprostřednosti dětských hrdinů, kterým je na jevišti dán značný prostor, jisté naturální surovosti prostředí v konfrontaci s lidskostí a přízní osudu.
